We got ready and loaded up the car and headed to the hospital. The big kids decided to stay home because we had to arrive at the hospital so early. Thankfully their Nonna(my mom) said she would pick them up later.
Once we arrive to the hospital the nurse came and grabbed us and took us upstairs to labor and delivery. To me everything seem to have flown by. I had a few nurses in and out. I got my IV put in which hurt like a B! I've always done pretty good with needles but that one hurt and continued to hurt until they took it out! OUCH! 😫
After I was already for OR Dr.Tse came in to explain the process of a C-section and if we had any questions. No questions for us ... I think I was beyond nervous at this point. The anesthesiologist came in and also told us the process of the epidural. He looked a little tired which made me nervous even more 😳
At this point it was only me and Jeremy and I can't tell you how nervous I was to go to into surgery without my mom being there.
Here are so pics of A nervous Daddy to be
I was prepped and ready for OR in about 20 minutes later or what seems like 20 minutes later they came to get me to take me in for my epidural. I don't remember it hurting as bad as it did this time. Not sure of my nervousness just got to me or if it really did just hurt. Thankfully Dr. Tse was there to explain the whole process to me and to let me lean on her. She truly is the most amazing Ob ever!! We love her!
It was go time! I didn't feel any pain but I was clamy I couldn't breathe which they said was from all the gases. My anesthesiologist seriously was the bomb. He knew what was wrong with me before I even said anything. He would give me medicine in my IV to help! I was so thirsty that he even gave me a wet rag to suck on towards the end.
They brought Jeremy (he was so worried and kept asking if I was ok) and apparently had already began because not even what seem like five minutes later baby girl Gentry Lynne was born. She made her debut at 7:42 AM just screaming away. I looked at Jeremy and he said she was perfect. Then at 7:43 AM Baby boy Bennett Paul arrived. He had been our troublemaker throughout the whole entire pregnancy kicking unable to see him during the Sonos so I knew that he was going to give Dr. Tse a problems and he sure did. She said she reached in and grabbed his foot and he yanked it back in. I felt like I couldn't stop crying wasn't sad tears with happy tears emotional tears of waiting what seem like forever for these sweet babies to make it here.
After they got me all put back together the put both babies in my arms and we were on our way to the postpartum room!
My heart was so full of happiness. My world was complete.
Jeremy's point of view
The day before the babies were supposed to be here was crazy, every minute felt like an hour. I tried to do several things to try to keep myself busy and not drive Tamera crazy.
As evening approached we started to wrap up any loose ends we had, I gathered everything together and had it downstairs ready to put in the car, after everything was taken care of we tried to sleep, that was so hard knowing we were just hours away from something we thought we would never have.
We tossed and turned all night, I think we slept maybe 2-3 hours at most. 4AM came and we were up, it was time to load the car and go to the hospital! We left the house, my wife was great, even though she couldn't eat she made sure I did. After a brief stop for breakfast (which I ate away from her so she couldn't smell it) we were at the hospital.
It was 5 AM and we were taken to our room, Tamera was put in a gown and the babies were put on a monitor. They brought me scrubs to wear in the OR, a few Drs came in to tell us what their part in the c section would be, it was getting close! Finally they came and took Tamera, they told me they would come get me in 10 min. I paced the floor staring at the clock, 10 min passes and I start to get anxious. Finally after 20 min they came and got me and took me into the OR.
When I went in they were already well into the procedure. My main concern at that point was Tamera, I just needed to know she was ok. They had me sit on a stool right by her head, I could see 2 baby warmers to my right with nurses at the ready. A few minutes later I here a cry, here she is Gentry!! She is perfect, moments later Bennet was here too, he is perfect!! They were both doing great, no NICU! They cleaned them up and I held the two miracles we prayed for, it was so amazing!
